Came from plant, use it; made in plant, don’t.

“Came from plant, use it; made in plant, don’t.”

The quote emphasis what is the importance of getting the results from original sources. Vitamin D is significant for the bones but if it is taken in the form of pills, it's never be much fruitful while Surya Namaskar for just 10 minutes adds much benefits of Vitamin D and if sun exposure to half an hour before 9 in the morning also counts in giving great results. So, the absolute source always provides better and unexceptional results.

This quote also elaborating that our diet must be on the eatables that are coming from the plants or trees directly and we should consume less that is being processed in the plants or manufacturing units. Plants are giving humans almost everything that are required to survive on the planet.

Quoted:- Prakriti is the essence of all observable qualities in terms of time, space and karma. It is the seed of all qualities. As such, it is exceedingly subtle. It is the essence of all experience but itself indescribable. To reach the level of Prakriti is to reach the original force behind all creation i.e. Krishna. In the verses 14.3 and 14.4, Krishna is referring to the Material Nature and how the living entities enter in the Material Universe.

 Trends are changing :-

There is substantial changes being observed in the eating habits of humans over the last 1,000 years. The strength, nourishment and nutritional requirements that humans are required and exposed nowadays are very much different from the environment that mankind are preconceived to live in. Early men those were dependent for their food on hunting and preparing uncooked diet and this journey has been transformed to well nourished diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts to a present day diet highlighting the higher intakes of processed carbohydrates such as ceareals and grains, saturated fats, salt and refined sugars. This change in diet has resulted in large spikes in illnesses directly linked to poor diet such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

Mankind has been existing for over 2-3 millions of years and this span has survived by distinct three separate food revolutions. Initial one was obviously from uncooked to cooked that is the discovery of fire which was used to cook foraged plants and hunted wild animal meats. The advantage of fire aided food improves the digestion and well known to vanish all the toxins present in the food items used for preparing meals.

The second revolution, occurred approximately 11,000 to 12,000 years ago, that focused on the introduction of agriculture, comprising of cereals grains like oats, barley and wheat and fatty animals such as cows and sheep which were raised solely for food purposes. Both grains and animal food sources were very different to the pre-agricultural diet of humankind. Researchers suggest that the human genetic makeup may not be able to fully adapt to the high levels of grain and animal protein consumption commonly found in the modern diet.

The third food revolution that began about 250 years ago was the industrial era. Where novel food sources such as salt, dairy, fatty and processed meats, cereals, vegetable oils and refined sugars became staples in the diet. This has bought dramatically alteration in the nutritional characteristics of what we were eating. Replacing native and seasonal fruits and plants diet has resulted in negative health affects and the nutritional makeup of most foods that we consume so they appear almost nothing like the foods they originate from. This change in diet has been said to have occurred too recently on an evolutionary scale for human genetics to adjust. Fatty meats and refined grains as a staple food is a recent addition to the human diet and a dramatic departure from the food sources we are genetically adapted to eating.

This discomfort between human genetic dietary needs and present day dietary patterns could be responsible for the increase in modern lifestyle diseases such as obesity, malnourishment, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer. More recent evidence also suggests a link between dietary patterns and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

Not surprisingly, a healthy dietary pattern contain foods as close as possible to their natural state, as nature intended them.

Current situation is even alarming when generation is entirely dependent on the junks, excessive sugar, preservatives, packaged food, micro plastics intakes, Solf drinks comprising of carbon dioxide, they are finding it more cool and trendy while such eating habits are making the body physically very weak and mentally so lethargic. Old proverb states as you eat so you represent yourself. Ailments, illnesses, stress, depression and mental health issues are directly proportional to the nutritional diet patterns we are following.

Great time to shift our meal more towards the plant based and organic farming is the solution for this. Coarser food items are the suitable diet, a humam genetically prepared for. Knowing what is the basic diet pattern human race is made to, is utmost important. Health is the biggest wealth. Our diet decides our sleeping patterns also. Sleep and meal are two basic amenities to stay healthy and stable.

Conclusions:-

Japan is the country with maximum of life expectancy and people of age above 100 years are maximum in the country, expressing the reason is adopting the diet very close to nature and physical exercise. This helps in handling the mental distress also. Emerging such evidence that we could use diet to prevent and treat a wide range of physical and mental health issues is revolutionary. The solution could be as simple as switching from a diet high in processed and sugary foods to one rich in fresh whole foods closer to their natural state.

As Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food”.
