Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible

अप्राप्यं नाम नेहास्ति धीरस्य व्यवसायिनः।

Meaning:- There is nothing unattainable to the one who has courage and who works hard.

A baby bird is afraid of flying at the start, what if motherly concern continues and mother bird doesn't break the bars of love bond and intentionally throwing up the baby bird into the danger so that her kids learn to fly very efficiently. These birds haven't received any management lessons, yet they know aims can't be achieved by just following all the norms properly, some bars need to be tarnished. Nature is the best teacher and provides mankind many lessons that are highly recommended to opt for future endeavours.

The adage "Progress is not possible without deviation from the norm" implies that breaking the accepted and standardised norms and practising is necessary for innovation and advancement. Sound can't be heard without breaking the glass ceilings. What if Ahilyabai Holkar, accepting the sati or widow rules of that times, won't be able to create the history of being first female visionary leader. Ahilyabai Holkar won everyone's hearts with her development work and philanthropy. She offered several donations to Hindu temples and worked towards building many forts and roads in Malwa. She also had a big contribution to constructing ghats, temples, tanks, wells and rest houses across India. She had done all by tearing all the traditional gender biasness norms.

Here are some justifications for and against this notion:-
Highlights in the support of the Quote:

Innovation and Creativity: Innovation frequently arises when deviates from the standard. Potential to think differently needs different ability differently. Bhed chal ie Imitation behind the world never leads to inventions of new roads. It is when people or civilizations reject conventional wisdom and consider other possibilities that new concepts, innovations, and technological advancements are born. Acid attack victim Lakshmi, nowadays famous motivator, mother, wife, financially stable lady turned her sorrowful story to inspiring one when she treated herself special and walked ahead of all the challenges rather than just crying over her miseries.

Adaptation to Change: Changes are beautiful and challenging simultaneously. As every season brings rejuvenation and freshness similarly adapting the alterations helps in shaping one's personality and goals. Because of the dynamic nature of the world, progress frequently necessitates adaptation to shifting conditions. Breaking from the usual enables adaptability and response to novel possibilities, problems, and technologies. Adaptability are the traits that are valued personally and professionally almost at every periphery.

Self esteem - self awareness, acts like a vitamins and minerals for body, to nourish the real talent of any individual. Rules are made to break if improved norms are on the way. Lord Hanuman ji, while their childhood tried to eat the sun assuming it as a fruit mango, enabled him to get blessed with ample of blessings by several lords. So, attempts to sideline the written notes are many times helping mankind to achieve the real strength. Not all wanders are losers, even to achieve something great, several wanderings need to be explored.

Arguments against the Quote:-

Continuity and Stability: According to some, maintaining rigorous adherence to specific standards prevents unneeded interruptions and offers continuity and stability. Drafting of the constitution of Bharat, was done to maintain the law and order in the nation and effective ruling/running of the nation. Disobedience of the constitutional laws, sections, duties, rights etc are considered as a crime and it's important to maintain the obedience and peace in the country. If deviation from constitution started than certainly this will be leading to mammoth of chaos and turns situation to civil war as well. Social order can benefit greatly from stability; departure might bring about chaos or unpredictability.

Preservation of Tradition: Breaking from the norm could be interpreted as a denial of cultural history and tradition. Presently country is witnessing the cross cultural values budding among the youngsters specially and ruining our rich cultural heritage and values. Western culture influence is exactly the deviation from Bharat's precious traditions and customs. Likewise Divorce rates are exponentially increasing in India, live in culture is widening, nuclear family trending, elderly respects are loosing, teenager vulgarity is on the peak, hook up culture is spreading, drug addiction, etc. are not the rungs of development ladder. One must contend that in order to preserve continuity and a sense of identity, some rules are important and ought to be upheld.

Risk and Uncertainty: It might be dangerous to stray from accepted norms. It is not a given that every departure will produce favourable results; in fact, some contend that excessive experimentation may lead to failure or unexpected consequences. As in vertebrates like turtles and tortoises, the carapace is a protective shell covering most vital organs is considered as a burden to the vertebrate but if such coverings are vanquished then sooner or little later the turtlea or tortoises will be killed either by adverse environment or be a prey to any mammoth animal. Similarly not following the rules sometimes leads people to a place or destination that proves highly inhabitable or risky to sustain.
