Literally, a long and high jump simultaneously. In 1991, when India has forex reserves $5.8 billions only, no one ever imagined that future will be as thrilling and grateful. Yes, it is and all such comes to true because of RBI, policy makers, beaurocrats, Make in India initiatives, FDI, FII, tax payers etc. and offcourse the last but not the least is learnings from the past success mistakes, no big accomplishments can be achieved in single day.

Knowing your strength and weakness, are equally significant and plays a crucial role in building the values and consciousness of present situation. The past is a store house of mental memory based information and concepts, values and lessons of knowledge which can be retrieved through thoughts. 

Values - are individual beliefs that motivate people to act one way or another. They serve as a guide for human behavior. Generally, people are predisposed to adopt the values that they are raised with. People also tend to believe that those values are “right” because they are the values of their particular culture.

Consciousness - Conscious awareness is a twofold state of being, in which the mind is both awake as well as cognizant of its surroundings. Like in the classic example of a square is always a rectangle but a rectangle is not always a square, a mind can be consciously aware but it cannot be aware without also being conscious.

Wise person never get afraid of failures even they learn lessons from the mistakes that causes the failures and tries to endeavour more hard efforts to achieve the destination striving for. Staying in past times for longer period and diving much into the past is never appealing move but there is always an opportunity to learn from every action, so keeping senses awake to imbibe lessons are the characteristics of intellectual people. Experience is equally important as talent as experience witness large number of set backs and thus knows many ways not to be followed as these ways were already examined by them.

 At personal sphere - roots and cultural values are passed from one generation to another. Our parents past learnings are like a nectar to our descendants and it's very obvious that all knowledgeable things are not available on Google only, people who have survived the millennium are real source of inspiration and knowledge. 

At national level - geopolitics among nations do exist on the basis of past experiences or the past dealings between the nations. Russia is considered as a friend of India because India is grateful for 1971 support. Bharat has extended the chain of serving the world with the moto Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and imitation of such attribute continues. 

At technology level - now we have reached out to the modern advancement of technology, it has started from very tiny inventions to big one. When it started from bullock cart and nowadays ranging to bullet or hypersonic trains. At every stage, all the past learnings played an major role. 

Conclusion - Every learning is important but sometimes getting engaged with the old memories resist our feets and courage to advance. Thus, it's challenging to get the learnings from the past as we are many times juggle with the negatives of past only. It's more significant to figure out what to take and what to leave aside. The civilisation or the individuals who carries the part learnings and previous teachings with them are genuinely the gems to be rewarded.
