Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes. - Mahatma Gandhi.
Erasers are made for those who are ready to rectify their mistakes,

The opportunity of making mistakes is important for learning because it is human nature to make mistakes, and we learn from the failures or mistakes that we make. If people make mistakes, they continue to gain experience, and, in the future, they can avoid repeating the same mistakes.
In the realm of education and personal development. In a learning surroundings that values freedom, students are provided with the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them. This type of freedom enables in germination of growth, creativity, innovation and the development of critical thinking skills. Such liberation also encourages individuals to take risks and explore new ideas without fear of failure, ultimately leading to a more vibrant and innovative society. Great leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji always inspires youth to act for the nations development and had given all the permissions to scientists in 1998, when nuclear test had to be conducted, considering all mistakes and failures would be shouldered by him if nuclear test failed and also the USA wrath by sanctions. The same freedom by visionary leader had made India, a nuclear power nation. Several such illustrations we have that emphasizes, no matter how much time and how many flaws are met by an individual but if perseverance sticks to an efforts, successful destination will surely be attained.
The important leadership lesson lies in the quote that one team flourishes and succeeds if leader is flexible with the flaws and bugs and failures are just another stair to reach out the destination. The late A. P. J. Abdul Kalam narrated a story from his life, he was particularly fond of working to the launch of a satellite by the Indian Space Research Organization in July 1979. Kalam was in charge of the project at ISRO; and when some members expressed reservations about its readiness he overruled them and ordered it to go ahead. The launch failed very badly and instead of going into space, the satellite plunged into the Bay of Bengal. As team leader, Kalam was humiliated by the failure, and terrified by the prospect of announcing it before the press. He was saved from embarrassment by the Chairman of ISRO, Satish Dhawan, who went himself before the television cameras to say that despite this failure he reposed complete faith in the abilities of his team, and was confident their next attempt would succeed. The following August, Kalam and his team tried once more to launch a satellite into space. This time they succeeded. Dhawan congratulated the team, while asking Kalam to address the press conference. In telling the story in later years, during and after his term as President of India, Kalam would feelingly recall: ‘When the failure occurred, the leader owned it up. When the success came, he gave the credit to his team’.
Conclusion -
If an individual doesn't commit mistakes, that means he can only do right things, and do things right. It signifies that an individual must do moral and good things properly, only. Morals and ethics are value based and there is an intrinsic tendency to push for better value, not the opposite. Because less valuable can be mistaken as not much worthy and striving for less worthy thing is a mistake in relation to limited time and resources. The quote turns out to be freedom is the pursuit for perfection. Perfect meaning ni flaws, no mistakes. Perfection leaves no space for freedom, instead it is a tyranny over human soul, i.e., the enemy of freedom. One is free to pursue perfection, but not a must to reach perfection.
Mistakes can be applied to numerous things such as human error, negligence, bugs, misconceptions etc. Einstein once said that while solving any questions if calculation mistakes happens they are allowed as this signifies person is more involved in the logics and concepts. Mistakes have many faces and in many cases, except the technical aspect, are arbitrary. The passage and process of growth and development compose of endless practices targetting at improvement, in other words, continuous correction of previous mistakes.
Mistakes are essential to grow as a person. To get better at anything you must make mistakes.
