The Heaviest Penalty for Declining to Rule is to be Ruled by someone Inferior

यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः। स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते ॥
‘Whatever a great man does, other men also do; whatever standards he sets, the world follows’

In Plato's seminal The Republic, he stated, “The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by someone inferior” , here he wanted to elaborate that capable people being disinterested in reforming society. And yet, he contented, they must be the ones to do it.

This Quote encapsulates the inevitable consequence of relinquishing one's leadership responsibilities. It highlights the notion that denying to govern and making decision can lead to individuals being subjected to the governance of someone less capable or knowledgeable. It is believed that there is an inherent duty in those who possess wisdom, intellectuality and excellence to lead and support mankind towards greater flourishing. By shirking this duty, one not only surrenders their potential to enact positive change, but also opens the door for the governance of individuals who may lack the necessary skills or qualities, resulting in a detrimental outcome for mankind as a whole.

Wise people echo through time with his profound intelligence and knowledge. With their thought-provoking words and deeds, reformations can be baked that turns a society to more graceful and delicious to relish. But sadly, wise people abandon such positions and the grave consequences of abdicating leadership and allowing oneself to be governed by an individual of lesser.

Ukraine Russia war has been continued since Feb 2022, common people are the sufferers and leadership at both ends are at fault, because they have choosen destruction over construction. An ideal example of how heavily are more capable population of both nations are being deteriorating as inferiors are ruling them. Wise Chankaya was insulted badly by Magada king Dhana Nand, and lacking of vision and values in the king became the reason for the fall of the entire magadha empire.

Why competent people don't accept leadership -

 1. Most people do not need the burden of responsibilities. Between if person is competent and also possess confidence, initiative, resilience, emotional intelligence and a passion for the unknown, he/she doesn't hesitate to step into a leadership role because society need such person.
2. Skilled individuals may fear that their social skills are not up to par, hindering their ability to lead effectively. Because diplomacy is not everyone's cup of tea and behaviour skills are highly recommended to be a leader.
3. Fear of Losing Technical Skills: Skilled professionals may worry that undertaking leadership role might distance them from the technical aspects of their profile, which they enjoy and excel at.
4. A Lack Of Work/Life Balance -  Although everyone who is skilled may have the opportunity to lead, whereas leadership is not a job title – it is a behaviour that requires mammoth investment of time , energy, integrity etc. People fail to sustain their work, life balance that is already balanced to much extent. They actually don't want to break their comfort zone and sometimes laziness also. They expect and want to be just in the world, and by being just, one is happy

What is the significance of smart and wise governance

ReZang La war under the leadership of Major Shaitan Singh on 18 November 1962, just 120 Indian brave soldiers have killed more than 1000 Chinese soldiers that too with limited resources. Our 114 brave heart soldiers have been martyred, but milestone is attained without loosing a single inch of motherland. Such goosebumps examples are carved out if smart and exceptional leaders do exist.

Smart leaders are not just highly skilled in their area of expertise, but also possess emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. They are capable to motivate and inspire their teams, foster open communication and collaboration, and create a positive work culture.

Emotionally intelligent governance are both cognitively and emotionally empathic. These leaders are highly attuned to the states of others and understand that empathy involves both a cognitive component (understanding what others are going through) and an emotional component (feeling what others feel).

A just and philosophical governance can create happiness - nations like New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg are consistently achieving highest ranking in Human Development Index and is tabulated at the top among the happiest nations. Here much emphasis is conferred on the philosophy of serving the talent and skills. Deprive of much resources, nations are developing to maximum extent because of efficient governance.

Competence must get the crown, 👑
Else get prepare for falling down,,
Society needs people of wisdom and knowledge,
For more robustness as fabric is strengthen by selvedge,,
Abandoning of the legacy can be grasped by anyone,
But ruling more honestly is not done by random someone,,
