In the fight of parents, it's the child that usually suffer. The statement that when two elephants fight, it is the grass that gets trampled, emphasis this point only that when two big powers quarrel it's the tiny one that is affected the most. Recent activities that elaborates this statement in exact relevance are :- 

Nepal massive floods -> Nepal is a small beautiful and mountainous country within the Himalayas. Recently, because of massive floods, Nepal has not only lost their infrastructure but also excessive human casualties. Nepal is known for its scenic beauty and is not much industrial developed. No much contribution in raising up the carbon emissions that posing danger to the Himalayas and causing excessive melting of glaciers, yet be the sufferer. Nepal lies between two giants India and China, both are industrialized nations, contributing too much for GHG emissions. The same is quoted by Napal's minister also that among the two giant nations that are competing to excel in very inadequate manner not giving proper attention to the environment whereas the consequences are being observed by the nation that is not a part of this devastation. Nepal floods illustrates how this tiny beautiful country like a grass gets trampled between two giant nations disturbing the environment. 

The proverb survived because human beings kept recognising the pattern: the powerful quarrel, and the cost is collected from those who were never consulted.

Powerful countries quarrel and smaller nations has to pay :- 

Recently what USA, Russia, China and Israel is doing explains the proverb absolutely. These powerful nations are not dependent on any country much while world is either dependent or need support of these countries to sustain. The Russia and Ukraine war has destroyed the well established country Ukraine and scared the surrounding nations like Poland, Sweden, Slovakia etc. these nations would be like grasses that get affected by the war sponsored by USA. Europe once considered as a garden of world is turning graveyard because of cold war between Russia and USA. What not endeavoured by USA to shatter the mighty Russia, yet all in vain and nothing worked out, it's been years that war continues. The major looser is Ukraine that has eradicated his legacy of peaceful, beautiful and great country survived excellently after the disintegration of USSR. Most brutally affecting its population, landscape and infrastructure.

Second, the war imposed by Israel and USA on Iran, affecting world wide oil supplies, LPG gas supplies, fertilizers and what not. The only, shortest and busiest passage, the Strait of Hormuz, blockage affecting the entire world. Attack on ships, delays in clearance of cargoes and charging huge for passing the busiest strait has increased the inflation and decreased the supplies throughout the world. How badly the most developed city Dubai is devastated because of this war is difficult to explain. Saudi Arabia, Oman, entire Middle Eastern Asia is severely affected by the strikes of the Iran. Whole world is suffering when big players are playing their dirty games just to please their corporates, as later is earning sound because of war weapons, ammunitions etc. Big countries are fighting while smaller nations are getting trampled just like grass tranples when two elephants fights. 

Getting trampled is sometimes good :- Bullying is bad but often it turns into fortune when considered positive and self awakening. Bhutan, the nation existing between two Asian Giants, manages to be in the happiest nation's list of the world. Bhutan, more greener, cleaner and happy nation. They have chosen their own way, staying back and less developed yet surviving in a very peaceful manner that almost many strive for. As everything has two sides, therefore it is the nature of grass that responds according to its nature and behaviour. Philosophical perspectives rests on the fortunes that grass acknowledges.
