Between knowing and not knowing lies the wonder of existence

Once a peasant wandering in the deserts and searching for a water very badly. Because of numerous mirage in the desert area, he deceived himself many times, now because of intense thirst, he wasn't not able to move. Even concluded that might this takes his life. He shattered completely. Suddenly saw a hut, it wasn't appear real to him. Yet he managed to reach inside the hut. He saw handpump there. With little hope he tried to extract water from the handpump but sadly water wasn't there. With heavy hurt he was about to leave the hut, and saw a hanging bottle filled with water with written note that put this water into the handpump, the later will be provide fresh and pure water , also keep bottle filled with water after drinking with similar note. The toughest time was this because peasant had to take the decision and uncertainty prevailed. He opted for pouring water into the handpump and miraculously handpump worked. Happy peasant drank the water and followed all given instructions. This anecdote explains how the solution exists between certainty and uncertainty. To find the solace and tranquility, path usually lies between knowing and not knowing facts.

The world is made up of many mysteries, uncertainties and unknown facts. Even if known, how astonishingly it changes is still question to answer. Universe is not for understanding, it's always to search the insights and make some aims with purpose. Might one way works for someone and other might suits with other part. Likewise cattle needs grass and humans need crops. Universe has already all solutions and those lies beneath our knowledge and beyond our wisdom. With every passing second, universe keeps on teaching us to stay focus, the way is created on its own. Jb tm kuch pane ki icha rakho sache man se, puri kaynaat tmhe usse milane me lg jati hai.

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज। अहं त्वां सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः

Alluding to such misty life-phases, the Bhagavad-gita (04.17) states that karma can be incomprehensibly complex.

How can we live with such uncertainty?

By shifting our focus from our knowledge to our position. We are parts of a benevolent whole, Krishna (15.07) and are meant to contribute in a mode of loving service. Every situation provides us an opportunity to contribute, even if we can’t see the path ahead clearly. Accepting our inability to know and still holding on to our ability to serve requires humility.

If we ground ourselves in the twin certainties that we are parts of Krishna and that we are meant to serve Him, we can move ahead through life’s many uncertainties, as did Arjuna. On hearing the Gita, we should accept our position as Krishna’s servant and acted accordingly in the ensuing Kurukshetra war. Still, we had to live through uncertainty when formidable opponents like Bhishma, Drona and Karna were on a seemingly unstoppable rampage. Still, by fighting one battle at a time, by enduring one wound at a time, by shooting one arrow at a time, Arjuna persevered till he succeeded.

One-sentence summary:

To persevere through uncertainty, we need the humility to shift our focus from how much we can see ahead to how we can serve now.
